Submission Deadline: 6/3/2020 2:00 PM CDT Start Date: 7/16/2020 End Date: 7/15/2021 Client: DOC Description: The Correctional Operations Management System (COMS) is a system of over 70 modules which collects and tracks data on the 16,000+ offenders that are committed to the Commissioner of Corrections. COMS is critical to the departments operations, every business unit in the agency uses the system on a daily basis for their own unique and complex business processes. Additionally, data from COMS is shared with other state agencies, law enforcement, counties, federal government and the public. COMS has undergone several version upgrades over its 15-year life to accommodate changes in legislation, case law and Department of Corrections (DOC) policies. Most recent efforts address technology obsolescence. MN.IT Services @ DOC is seeking an experienced developer with Microsoft technologies to support the recent efforts of addressing the technology obsolescence within the majority of the COMS modules so that they are aligned with current business, security, accessibility and legal requirements. The COMS project plan extends thru 2023, depending on funding. Sample Tasks • Apply advanced SQL database development experience and skill for Microsoft SQL Server. • Provide technical leadership to team members. • Work independently with minimal guidance while also participating on project teams. • Prepare and participate in release readiness for database development deployments to the TEST and PROD environments. • Prepare and participate in continuous process improvement efforts. • Provide clear, concise and honest communication. • Other DOC database development, as needed. • Provide knowledge transfer. Minimum Qualifications • Five (5) years experience as a SQL Developer (SQL Server). • Four (4) years experience of Relational Database Data Modeling. • Four (4) years experience of SSIS development and deployment. • Two (2) years experience of SQL Server Query Performance Tuning. Desired Skills • Criminal Justice experience. • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience. • Collaborative software development team experience up to at least 4-5 team members, using TFS (Team Foundation Server). • Experience in system modernization efforts for applications with a technology obsolescence   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
