This person will work with a team to maintain and support the expansion of our highly critical application infrastructure. In order to be successful, this person will partner with application developers, server administrators and other IT teams within the organization. I. BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Analyst V Application Infrastructure position is responsible for the administration of the web applications infrastructure, software deployment, with a primary focus on setup, configuration, monitoring and management of the applications infrastructure for the IT department. The position is responsible for proactive performance monitoring and maintenance of existing application infrastructure to ensure smooth operations to meet quality standards. This position requires partnering with members of the IT teams in order to successfully complete assignments. It involves mentoring and providing direction to junior associates in the administration or support of carmax.com systems, planning and execution of projects with minimal direct supervision as well as contributing to develop the future technical vision of our application infrastructure. II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Application Infrastructure Analysis and Server Administration: Maintains the Carmax.com and other application environments, ensuring their performance and availability Works with Developers to support project work and to update & release to QA/Production with software releases, configuration updates, and other release requirements Monitors server performance and recommends changes as needed. Works closely with developers on other IT teams to support, design and optimize their web applications infrastructure environments. Prepares scripts to automate administration tasks. Determines and or maintains standards for Carmax.com infrastructure Responsible for the ownership of assigned environment administration tasks on projects Ensures that application infrastructure administration, support and development efforts consistently meet CarMaxR standards, business requirements and direction Passionate about support and ownership of all areas under their responsibility Effectively develops timelines for themselves and others to perform tasks and influences the teams work to be completed within those timeframes Participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation as scheduled and must perform after hours support Must effectively categorize support problems and respond with the appropriate level of urgency Developing and promoting standard operations documentation such as procedures, checklists and instructions Ensuring systems adherence and compliance with CarMax security standards and practices Proactively researches and evaluates existing systems in order to propose systems enhancements Creates infrastructure and design standards for optimal architectures Creates designs of new infrastructure projects which span multiple teams Researches emerging trends in appropriate technologies Enterprise wide systems and environmental planning Researches innovative solutions to new business problems Works with vendors d   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
