This is a great opportunity to work directly with the business users across the different functions with companies trading business to understand and clarify requirements, undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data and interfaces, and implement technical solutions in a fast-paced trading environment. The RAD developer will provide application support and development for ad-hoc applications as prioritized by the Business Investment Managers and support for business- and RAD-developed applications. Key accountabilities Work closely with the business to understand and clarify requirements, identify the correct technology with which the solution be implemented, and implement the solution in the identified technology prioritizing RAD resources effectively. Maintain existing RAD-developed solutions and modify as the business needs arise. Work closely with other RAD team members in prioritizing projects and contribute to the overall implementation of tactical projects as part of the RAD team. Work with other developers, designers, architects, business analysts and testers as part of the wider IST Information Technology & Services (IT&S) team; particularly in support of larger releases & projects, as required. Assist with establishing an effective environment for rapid application development. Essential Education Bachelors degree required (graduate desirable) in technical or engineering discipline such as math, statistics, physics, or computer sciences. Essential experience and job requirements Knowledge/understanding of credit and market risk management in commodity trading and end-to-end (Front to Back Office) business processes in financial trading & risk environment. Interpersonal Ability to prioritize many projects and switch tasks quickly. Self-directed high performer with a relentless commitment to detail, quality, and customer service. Comfort level in working autonomously, sometimes under high-pressured and fast-paced circumstances, and often times with limited information and ambiguity. Technical Strong professional experience with the Microsoft stack of development tools (.NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, REST and Web Services, etc.). Strong grasp of how practical mathematics are applied to financial and risk models using technical computing (MATLAB, R, Python, etc.). Database design and development skills (SQL Server), including writing complex queries to consume and update data, and also designing new relational data schemas. Experience working with large volumes of financial data in Excel, relational databases and more advanced tools, including the integration of data across multiple spread sheets and databases. Experience as a RAD developer or developer/analyst using a broad array of technologies to design, develop and support business applications.
