The website is a site collection of hosted Sharepoint environments however the search functionality is written using Microsoft Silverlight. We need somoene to assess the current technology and enhance the search function for the program and course sections of the site as well as allow flexibility to be utilized on any existing page or a redesign in the future. This will be a 3-6 month contract and our client may extend beyond the 6 month mark. Required Skills: Microsoft Sharepoint Microsoft Sivlerlight work with MS SQL databases CSS Services are needed to assess the current technology and enhance the search function for the program and course sections of the website as well as allow flexibility to be utilized on any existing page or a redesign in the future. Currently the Silverlight application allows users to search by keyword, area of study, and university for both programs and courses. Additionally, each method of searching allows for additional filters for level (undergraduate, graduate, or certificate). The Silverlight application pulls data from a MS SQL database that stores program and course date. The new solution should connect to the same database. In addition to the existing functionality, a new custom SharePoint webpart needs to be developed that allows authorized users to add or change information for the courses stored in the MS SQL database. Authorized individuals need to be able to make changes to the course information via a custom webpart. The new custom SharePoint webparts must be able to be used on our current CSS and SharePoint masterpage environment as well as be flexible enough to be utilized when the SharePoint masterpage is redesigned. Our in-house SharePoint staff will provide current andfuture support for all CSS and SharePoint masterpage needs. 2. Changes to Academic Program Inventory Database Interfaces PASSHE utilizes a site collection on the same SharePoint environment as the Distance Education Portal for an organization-wide intranet. There are several asp.net interfaces that are used to search and edit a MS SQL database for PASSHEs academic programs. Services are needed to rewrite the existing functionality as custom webparts as well as to fix several issues with the current applications. The successful supplier must have experience creating custom SharePoint webparts that utilize a MS SQL database as a source for viewing and editing data. New custom webparts must be able to provide functionality for a view-only interface, a selective edit of specific fields, and a full edit of every field in the MS SQL database. The new custom SharePoint webparts must be able to be used on our current CSS and SharePoint masterpage environment as well as be flexible enough to be utilized when the SharePoint masterpage is redesigned.
