It has an opportunity for an AWS Cloud Architect role in the Greater Boston area. This is a 6+ month contract – contract to hire position and the pay rate is flexible depending on experience. Here are the details: Position: AWS Cloud Architect Location: Boston MA / REMOTE Rate: Negotiable based on experience Duration: 6+ months – contract to hire Position Description: • Is recognized within IT and as the Cloud Architecture expert for design, development, and enable of both cloud platform engineering, operational teams as application owners / product teams to move application workloads to cloud-native models; • Lead the development of the Cloud strategy, drive innovation and cloud adoption in alignment with cloud-first strategy, through development of cloud policies, standards, guidelines and reference materials; • Establish and maintain a Cloud Key User (Cloud Center of Excellence) network and lead the enablement and the development of a global cloud community of practice under the Enterprise Architecture direction and for the benefit of global IT and IT Business Partners; • Lead and direct the continuous improvement of cloud capabilities including but not limited to cloud governance, service models, and cloud operating models which align to architecture principles, global IT standards, and security requirements. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY: • Lead the formulation of an IT Cloud Strategy, with a strong focus on strategic digital innovation, application rationalization and cost optimization goals by maturing cloud capabilities; • Provide leadership to cloud service and cloud capability roadmaps for overall cloud platform; • Drive cloud adoption for candidate workloads, while maintaining design authority to align application workloads to optimized, cloud-native patterns and non-negotiable guardrails • Lead and influence the development and maintenance of cloud architecture principles, standards, blueprints, patterns, and reference architectures / implementation which enable improved business outcomes from cloud; • Influence and lead project teams, IT engineering and operations teams to solve problems in the overall cloud environment or specific to business applications; • Recognized and seen as product / service owner for cloud environments, partnering with IT operations teams to provide excellent, business agility-enhancing cloud services; • Use in-dept knowledge and experience with Cloud Architecture, design, data, system thinking and standards together with and clear view on Enterprise Leadership and Product Management to advice on multiple levels of complexity in Architecture. • Bring all instances of public and private cloud under a common management and operations framework while supporting the needs of agile product teams • Manage and enable cloud financial management and cost allocations to enable strong IT financial demand management and analytics for the cloud service • From time to time, report on the state and direction of cloud environments Required Skills: • Bachelors degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience. • 10 + years of experience spanning multiple IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations. • Experience as a team lead strongly preferred. • Strong “soft skills” and communication skills • Experience with AWS, Azure, OpenShift and VMWare public/private cloud implementations; carries relevant cer   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
