This client is a huge AWS user and is in the top 15 places to work in IT. Activities are performed in our AWS and on premise data centers. This position presents an excellent opportunity to work with application teams in support of their rapidly advancing cutting edge activities at AWS. The project: This is in support of big initiatives for 2019 at this client site. Day to Day: Work closely with the apps team and implementing monitoring (automation through scripts) to all apps which are in AWS or on premis Scripting in perl and bash Take direction and work in a team setting MUST Experience providing support for Linux systems Perl and Bash scripting. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Excellent problem-solving skills Basic to mid-level AWS experience with different name spaces (EC2, ELB, ALB, S3, RDS, IAM roles etc). We are rapidly expanding the application footprint in AWS. We are utilizing many services provided by AWS, and continuously evolving as AWS evolves Nice to have: Experience with any monitoring systems such as Nagios, Appdynamics and icinga Python scripting Solid networking knowledge Basic database experience which should include executing SQL, and assisting application teams with connectivity and integration activities Knowledge of setup/provisioning of server environments in support of application purposes Puppet configuration management experience Experience with troubleshooting application related issues. This includes reviewing log files, application servers/services. Working with the network team to troubleshoot connectivity issues and working with infrastructure teams for OS/platform issues Experience deploying applications, and experience with automated deployment tools Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems Experience in the following tools: JIRA, Software Repositories (Git), and Jenkins Experience providing support for Windows systems   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
