PROJECT SCOPE/TASKS The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks: • Provide User Experience (UX) design services in support of the my|CalPERS Participant Self-Service. • Applies industry best practices to define how online services are organized, how navigation is labeled and structured, and how users will interact with the site. Includes the application of necessary Information Architecture and Interaction Design practices. • Ensures that designs of interfaces are from a consumer-oriented perspective, meets standard architecture/best practices, and serves as the advocate for the end user to ensure all designs are usable, intuitive, and conform to industry standards for user experience. • Evaluates and designs interactions, creates wireframes and workflow diagrams to communicate to developers, analysts, and other stakeholders during the design process. • Ensures that interface designs follow ADA Section 508 guidelines for accessibility. • Writes and edits instructional text, help content, and other user instruction as part of design process. • Interfaces with Graphic Designers for implementing visual design layer of designs. • Provide technical project management assistance. • Provide UX-related development and test support. • Provide UX-related production support. • Prepare weekly status report. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Refer to RFP 2009-5397, Section IV, Vertical 5.0 for minimum qualifications required for this engagement. Additional Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years experience with user-centered design or interaction design. • Minimum 5 years applied experience in UX design and research. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Strong communication and presentation skills necessary to effectively present, explain, negotiate, and monitor design solutions. • Must be able to work collaboratively and drive design solutions across multi-disciplinary groups. • Strong project management skills to be able to manage portfolio of work, identify project needs, priorities and schedules. • Self-motivated, highly organized and able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced. • 2 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite 5, including Fireworks. • Experience working on government or pension systems. • Knowledge of CalPERS business and systems.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
