Develops and establishes enterprise-wide technical, designs, and engineering capabilities, including process, function, and delivery. X Provide senior engineering input on all design and standards issues including analysis, development, implementation, as well as training and mentoring of technologies across the teams X Evaluate, test, develop, and implement complex technical solutions to address a variety of business problems; this includes hardware, software, configurations standards, and creating solutions with specific focus on driving business value X Develop written procedures, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation X Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance of major systems components X Participate in and lead the installation and/or change of systems in accordance with change management practices X Provide coverage for other team members as needed to ensure consistent operations and customer support X Analyze technology specifications and requirements to determine if the technology is compatible with our current standards and utilizes the most efficient processes X Communicate to the general organization on the support efforts of project related items X Communicate to senior leadership on all technical aspects of UNIX (AIX) engineering and operations tasks. X Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines X Expert-level technical knowledge of UNIX platforms, networking, and information security X Produce or modify shell scripts X Follow standard change management and configuration policies X The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches X This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation X Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions X This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties X The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert X To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others X Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently X Ensure IT adherence to service level agreements regarding infrastructure performance, limitations, and availability X Provide Level-3 support and trouble-shooting to resolve issues impacting infrastructure & application operations X Analyze infrastructure systems performance, collect information, and prepare summary reports Knowledge and Skills Required: X Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science X 10+ years of experience with enterprise level server design and support for any UNIX/Linux platforms, or equivalent combination of education and experience X 6+ years of experience as a technical SME and/or senior engineer specifically for IBM Power systems and the AIX operating system X AIX expert level of experience to include familiarity with: HMC, PowerVM (VIO Server, NPIV, SEA), NIM, Power Hardware, LVM knowledge with SAN storage and familiarity with Hitachi, Violin, and EMC storage X Extensive experience w   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
