Under general supervision, perform analytical and technical work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer systems. 2. Troubleshoot PC related problems, analyze potential solutions, and implement a solution that best fixes any problems. The problems are generally complex in nature, where only the most complex issues require outside assistance. 3. Confer with end users to determine hardware, software, and PC requirements. 4. Conduct research and analysis on the installation and configuration of PC systems. 5. Assist in the process of evaluating and recommending new hardware and software applications. 6. May answer phone calls in a help desk setting, but spends a majority of time at end user workstations. 7. May train end users in the use of equipment and software. 8. Performs other duties as required. 9. Maintain PC and server inventory. 10. Related certifications (i.e. A+, MCP, MCSE, NCSA, NASA, etc.) are a plus. 11. Microsoft Active Directory networking experience. FUNCTIONAL AREA SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process, with a working knowledge of the organization and intermediate technical skills required to complete assignments. Strong analytical problem solving ability and communications skills. Ability to make group presentation and conduct training either in a one-on-one or small group setting. A good working knowledge of personal computers, including hardware and software. JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE: • 3-5 years PC, technical support, or related experience. PC skills to include Windows and standard office automation products. • Excellent Oral and written communication skills • Analysis/problem-solving skills • Familiarity with client/server and network technology. • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. Knowledge of Windows PC and related operating systems as well as Software Deployment methodologies.
