Description: We are seeking an IT Consultant Contractor that will be responsible for implementing technological solutions to solve business problems, creating a schedule for analysis, implementation and testing of technology, and working with in-house technical teams to ensure consistency of use.The IT Consultant Contractor will communicate technical instructions in understandable business terms and produce technical manuals, requiring exceptional interpersonal and communicative ability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, candidates must be able to perform each essential duty and fulfill each responsibility to a satisfactory degree.The essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Generate, identify, and qualify methods of incorporating technology with the standard industry practices • Diagnose IT system problems, inefficiencies and weaknesses • Work directly with the IT Manager to understand our business needs, plan a timeline for completion of projects and produce a detailed report outlining the findings • Study technical trends and how to affect this acquired information with the purpose of upgrading the systems • Seek, consolidate, and confirm with the IT manager all developed solutions prior to implementation • Function as an advisor on industry alternatives, options, perils, and provide data on the advantages against the disadvantages of the same business processed and procedures • Develop a workflow; how items are received to IT, distributed, worked, prioritized, etc. • Identify staffing needs and understand work volume • Provide SMART goals for IT department based off findings Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities expected of successful candidates. Education • Required:2-year (Associates) or 4-year (Bachelors) degree from an accredited college or university in an IT related field. Work Experience • Preferred:8+ years previous experience performing in an IT Consultant role. • Required:4+ years previous experience performing in an IT Consultant role. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations • Preferred:Active relevant IT standard certification(s). Analytical Skills • Ability to analyze an organizations current technologies and needs to make recommendations and provide guidance, so they should have strong assessment and analysis skills. Business Strategy • To successfully guide IT decision-making, need a strong sense of business strategy and a high level of familiarity with their clients goals and objectives. Problem-solving skills: • Ability to assess a clients current shortfalls and devise creative and technical solutions to address these issues.
