Job Description Developer: Arc SDE, ArcGIS, Geodatabase Management,

Description:

• Responsibilities include working with staff to develop and track needs or requirements for the NCDOT advanced linear referencing system (ALRS). This entails consulting with the Spatial Data Management Group in building and designing enterprise geodatabases to support spatial data editing processes, as well as reviewing and implementing standard operating procedures and workflows for the GIS Data Conversion Group

• Additional work will also be required to consult with clients, technicians, and analysts to resolve technical problems and assist in the functional design of ALRS applications and enhancements

• This role also includes assisting and supporting Enterprise Asset Management, Road Analyzer, Roads and Highways (Esri)

Required Skills:

Experience and knowledge for this position should include: Leading subject matter expertise on advanced linear referencing and how it is implemented at NCDOT. Advanced knowledge of Esris Roads and Highways product. Knowledge of NCDOT organizational GIS data processes. Knowledge and experience with the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS). Hands on experience with ArcSDE geodatabases and managing workflow with ArcSDE. A strong understanding of ESRI current ArcGIS product lines. Knowledge of GIS and IT industry standards and best practices. Understanding of GIS and IT data modeling. Considerable knowledge of organization spatial data quality processes. Hands on experience with editing spatial data, preferably in ArcSDE. Knowledge of GIS industry terminology and implementations (e.g., topology). Understanding of the four frameworks for ArcGIS (Desktop, Embeddable, Mobile, and Server). The ability to read engineering drawings/plans. The ability to perform business analysis and functional design of enterprise projects. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to include serving on key enterprise multi-disciplinary groups. The ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to work independently with minimal daily guidance.
