Candidates willing to relocate at the candidates expense Description: Under the general supervision of the Solution Delivery Manager and IT Director in the Bureau of Information Technology of the DFI (Department of Financial Institutions), and as a member of the DFIs Solution Delivery Team, this position functions as a Technical Architect. The Technical Architect will be responsible for understanding business requirements, developing technical documentation and solutions along with planning the implementation of appropriate solutions by interacting with agency product owners and DFI Technical team, merchants, payment gateways, and third parties.Conducts complex work important to the organization. Works with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. Persons in this role require experience and proficiency in the specific disciplines of eCommerce, Cashiering, Point of Sale, and Fiscal systems;typically six to nine years of related work experience. Objectives and Tasks: • Manages and develops the architecture for a financial solution, working closely with DFI technical staff, Product Owners, Project Managers, IT Leadership and external vendors. • Delivers the architectural design for products or product groups and inputs to the roadmap by utilizing knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends, and implementation experience in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution. • Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations. • Delivers the implementation of solutions within the product / product group and leads the integration strategy for cross-product group purposes. • Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes etc...) and financial impact of the solution architecture. • Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies or misalignment with business requirements. • Defines and documents the guidelines, standards, and solution architecture to ensure product-based decisions are aligned with the enterprises future-state architecture vision. • Designs and directs the governance activities associated with ensuring product architecture assurance and compliance. • Engages with Tech Leads (internal and external), Product Managers, and IT Leadership to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise architecture. • Proposes new and innovative ways to support business initiatives. • Prepare feasibility reports showing the cost benefits of the various alternatives. Present these reports to both client and IT management. • Create detailed project plans and estimates for design, programming, testing, integrating and implementation tasks. • Write functional requirements documents defining business and technical system requirements. • Review detailed design specifications to assure the integrity and accuracy of the specifications. • Write technical specifications for complex programs that other team members will code. • Identify technical and application alternatives to meet specifications and recommend most efficient, maintainable, and cost-effective solution.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
