Description: The Data Governance analyst works with management to help ensure successful execution of the data governance program across business areas through the implementation of data governance and data management activities and solutions while working in partnership with business data stewards, quality and IT teams. Serves as an analyst and helps in the development and execution of the Data Governance Strategy, working with the Reporting Manager and Director. Coordinates with reporting and operational data stewards to create measure definitions for reports and dashboards. Ensures reports are operationally meaningful and recommends improvements and solutions. Maintains communication with data stewards to ensure visual formatting of reports adheres to organizational standards. Collaborates with the Data Governance leadership team and report developers to ensure consistency across reports in terms of data definitions and lineage, as well as enlists business unit support to take ownership and responsibility for data definitions and data quality. Collaborates with the Data Stewards, Architecture, and Information Technology to prioritize and resolve: data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption. Ensures operational data stewards define data quality business rules, creates and maintains business glossary; works with source system owners to profile and remediate data quality issues. Creates enterprise policies, guidelines and processes for governing data and metadata across the organization. Develops accurate metadata for source systems, operational data stores, data warehouse and data marts. Establishes and maintains programs to monitor and measure data governance adoption and achievement of program objectives. Responsible for maintaining an accurate enterprise reporting library with associated reporting metadata. Working with data stewards and report developers to identify the most appropriate reporting data source and tool. Documents and maintains data governance activities, maintains logs, and records issues and corresponding resolutions.
