ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SOC ANALYST: Review alerts from multiple sources, service accounts and Information Security service mail accounts. Based on the alerts, triage the events and accordingly create a ticket and assign it to Tier 2 specialist. Provide Cyber Security Operations Team (COT) support on a 8x5 basis by shift work with rotation. Collect and maintain antivirus extra.dat for distribution to the enterprise. Monitor ARCSIGHT Console for events that are generated due to correlation of the events and accordingly triage the event and create a ticket in the case management system. Log incidents into Information Security Incident Management System and assist in generating reports based on security incidents. Interpret incoming incident reports, prioritizing them, and relate them to ongoing incidents and trends. REQUIREMENTS FOR SOC ANALYST: Minimum University/College degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Engineering preferred). Minimum 3 years of Information Security experience required, out of which an individual has worked with Security Operations Center for a minimum period of 1 year. Experience in triaging Information security events. Good understanding of Windows and Unix Operating systems. Experience in networking technology, host, data and/or application and hardware security platforms (Check Point Firewall-1, Cisco PIX/ASA, and Juniper JUNOS are preferred, but not limited to). Experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies including encryption, IPSec, PKI, VPNs, Firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists (ACL). Thorough understanding of network protocols, network devices (Routers and Switches), security devices (IPS/IDS), network security monitoring systems (ArcSight, Cisco MARS, etc.), network security architecture, and system administration in support of security forensics and operations. Understanding of logs formats from various network devices, servers and honeypot.
