The successful candidate will have years designing and developing relational and NoSQL data storage solutions in a hybrid cloud environment, demonstrate solid experience in delivering database code pipelines, orchestrated or played a critical role in on-prem to cloud migrations, as well as collaborated with peers in implementing functional data governance of hybrid cloud assets. Responsibilities: • Ability to clearly communicate through verbal and written word with peers, one-on-one and in groups, articulating complex analysis, design and development concepts and ideas • Excellent track record of creative, accurate, on-time delivery of high-quality software solutions in a production cloud environment • Complete understanding of data modelling techniques: operational transactions and logging, data warehouse or data vault, star and snowflake dimensional schemas, normalization and denormalization • Experience in dealing with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data in batch and real-time environments. • Engineering software products that provide synchronous and asynchronous messaging to client software on board an aircraft on a global scaleSolid experience working in AWS environments including: o EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, EMR, Redshift, Glue, Spark, Kinesis/Kafka, Data Lake Formation and related serverless services o AWS Glue, with preferred additional experience using Python and AWS Lambda functions o Data formats and ETL/ELT processes in including Hive, Parquet, MapReduce, or YARN o CloudFormation and CodePipline, particularly as it applies to schema versioning o Performance tuning, data access optimization and other related monitoring and troubleshooting activities in high transaction volume, mutli-user, big data environments o Backups, restores, recovery models, data store shrink operations and other data deployment models including clustering, mirroring and replication as they pertain to on-prem and cloud hosted (serverless) services o Familiar supporting data integration and data visualization using tools such as Quicksight, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar • Solid understanding of version control, branching and merging, automated builds, and releases • Good working experience with Agile development methods such as TDD, Scrum, Mob Programming, CI/CD pipelines, as well as tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence • Strong experience creating/enforcing data governance and master data management, data catalogs, data lineage as well as managing the full data life cycle from acquisition through archiving • Familiar with data architecture using data modeling and scripting tools (such as ERWin) to create conceptual, logical and physical models; Experience using data ETL modeling and execution tools. • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues such as integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues • Familiar with REST and SOAP API development, JSON document formats, web application development and middle-ware development, emphasizing data access implementation • Documentation skills for processes and procedures (data flow, use cases, data dictionaries, ETL processing) • 10+ years of experience in database design, development and programming in relational database and NoSQL environments supporting OLTP, Data Warehouse, and BI data stores • 5+ years direct AWS Cloud based data storage design, implementation and support using S3, RDS, Aurora, RedShift, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Snowflake and similar services • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
