Job Description Developer: Cognos, Business Intelligence, Commercial Software Reports,

Description:

Responsibilities:

* Design optimal frameworks against large data sets.
* Be able to map design documents and solutions that match the business requirements.
* Collaborates with business users and works well within a large team
* Can effectively handle being the expert on Cognos data solutions.
* Develops, supports and implements Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, multi-dimensional cubes, and relational models as well as complex reports.
* Creates, develops and supports complex data movement processes and SQL procedures.
* Utilizes skills and business knowledge for the migration of applications to Dev/Staging and Production environment.
* Performs project management activities including documentation, business requirements and project tracking.
Extensive experience in working with the following Cognos tools. Cognos 10 (8.4 or newer) required
* Framework Manager
* Transformer
* Query Studio
* Reporting Studio
* Events Studio
* Strong SQL skills

Required Skills:

* BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
* 3-5 years experience developing reports for commercial software.
* Strong technical understanding of business intelligence tools and demonstrated problem solving & troubleshooting skills are required.
* Quickly understand the software development environment and related processes.
* Must be organized and detail-oriented.
* Must have a team player attitude.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with general database optimization techniques and best practices
* Minimum education required: Bachelors degree in a related field
* Minimum work experience required: 3-5 years in commercial software engineering
