Description: Experis is partnered with an independent not-for-profit designated by the FCC making universal services possible, in their search for a Senior Vulnerability & Remediation Security Engineer to join their team in Washington, DC located just steps from the Metro Center Metro stop!! This role requires no less than 8-10 years of overall IT infrastructure/systems/network experience that includes at least 7 years focused on security aspects that includes implementations, firewall administration, secure topologies/architectures, IDS, incident response and forensics, vulnerability isolation and remediation, risk audit and assessment, IT security policy and standards development, etc. The Senior Vulnerability & Remediation Security Engineer will need to have a strong functional and technical background as they will be leading the incident response team and supporting new initiatives by evaluating, implementing, maintaining and monitoring IT security enhancements and upgrades required as existing web applications are enriched and new applications are added. Within a Microsoft and UNIX environment, their day to day hands-on responsibilities will include: Scanning of network to validate the current state of vulnerabilities throughout the network Firewall administration Evaluation of new and existing applications for security compliance and provide recommendations to improve security posture Validate remediation efforts of findings related to vulnerability and system configurations Perform security initiative gap assessments Implement, test and maintain defined security solutions Provide security support for project development and existing applications Act as security liaison to the developer and program support groups Act as Incident Response Team lead, responsible for directing the engineer/analyst in triaging security incidents and keeping the security group manager apprised of the incident status Update and implement the annual security awareness training, annual developer security training and annual administrator security training Respond to day-to-day IT operations and internal requirements requiring security support Develop IT Security policies EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Masters Degree (or experience) CISSP, CEH, CISA or other security related certifications CCNA, MCSE and/or RHCE certification This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and or privileged information internal to our organization and intended solely for the use of the individual(s) or entity or entities to whom they are addressed.
