Job Description :

It is searching for qualified candidates for a new and exciting Java Architect opportunity with one of our top clients in Richmond, VA. This is a 6 month contract to hire that will start work remotely but once COVID policies subside you will need to sit onsite in Richmond, VA.

This is a unique Java Architect role where you will own and drive forward CI/CD pipeline maturation across our clients organization. You will also provide mentorship on tooling and methodologies to promote DevOps, agile development, and ensure compliance to architectural standards, design patterns, policies, and best practices.

Role: Java Architect/DevOps Engineer

Length: 6 month contract to hire (Consultant must be able to leave your companys payroll and convert to our client after 6 months. THe client will provide direct sponsorship for them if required by the candidate)

Location: Remote, and after COVID policies subside sit onsite in Richmond, VA

Compensation: Competitive and negotiable based on experience

Java Architect/DevOps Engineer Requirements:

· Looking for around 8+ years of experience professional with the last 3 to 5 years focused as an Architect/DevOps Engineer

· Profile should be: Java Development background and have moved into an Application Architect/DevOps Engineer.

· Experience working with Containerization tools hands on (open to tools such as Open Shift, Kubernetes or Docker). OpenShift 4.x is ideal since thats where they are going.

· Experience working with Jenkins.

· Ability to look at existing Architecture and optimize where needed or where they believe improvements can be made.

· Experience preforming code reviews.

Ability and willingness to do hands on Java Development when needed on a limited basis.

Java Architect/DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:

· Champion DevOps and agile strategies and practices across teams

· Own and drive forward Java and CI/CD pipeline maturation across the organization

· Provide mentorship on tooling and methodologies to promote DevOps, agile development, and ensure compliance to architectural standards, design patterns, policies, and best practices

· Lead maturation and migration to new development tools and processes

· Lead initiatives within an architecture capacity across the organization

· Develop proof of concept projects to validate new solutions to enable development teams

· Support Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping, and creation of technical solutions

· Develop design specifications, installation instructions and other system-related information.

· Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of Java Enterprise applications and DevOps tools.

· Facilitates design reviews, analyzes specifications, and evaluates potential risk.

· Implement solutions focusing on reuse and industry standards at a program, enterprise or operational scope level.

· Evaluates alternatives and analyzes problems by collaborating with System Administrator teams, Application Development and Support teams, and Infrastructure teams.

· Ability to communicate effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients
