Job Description Developer: CI/CD, GIT, Maven, Azure AWS API Java J2EE LMS DevOps Bache

Job Description :

OVERVIEW

· Required to work with the technical team developing a Virtual Reality (VR) Mobile Application. The role will focus on extracting data from Blackboard through APIs including push notifications based on Blackboard events

· 3 months (until end of 2020)

· Reports to Blackboard Product Manager

· Must be able to start with short notice

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage design, build and deploy Blackboard APIs for mobile application

· Collaborate with digital product management teams to determine business requirements and confirm whether out of the box Blackboard APIs are available for the requirements

· If Blackboard APIs are not available, design, develop and deploy building blocks to deliver custom APIs

· Performs design and analysis, coding and unit testing

· Influence Architecture teams to determine architecture and design of the LMS components and APIs by understanding needs from Product Management

· Provide thought leadership in helping business leaders understand how LMS experiences will enhance customer engagement

· Experience in building learning tools and integrate with LMS using LTI

· Work across a matrix organization using Agile IT methodologies

· Participate in peer reviews and unit testing, and must be adaptable to different responsibilities, possess strong communications skills, and have a passion for constantly improving the individual and team effectiveness

· Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms

· Investigate alternatives and technologies and present them for architectural review, in order to support continuous improvement

TECHNICAL SKILLS

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field

· At least 5 to 10 years of related experience

· Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment and keep management adequately informed.

· Demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot complex technical problems

· Proficient in Java/J2EE web technologies.

· Experience working in create building blocks for Blackboard LMS

· Experience working with Blackboard APIs

· Experience in Brightspace LMS is a plus

· Proficient in Authentication Protocols such as LTI, Oauth

· Proficiency with front end languages such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS

· Proficiency with server side languages such as Java, JavaScript and run time environments like JVM, NodeJS

· Proficiency with relational (Oracle, Sql server) databases

· Proficiency in CI/CD process (Azure DevOps Preferred).

· Experience in designing learning solutions in LMS.

· Familiarity with APIs and API Management

· Familiarity with MuleSoft or similar middleware platform is a plus

· Familiarity with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform is a plus

· Experience with AWS EC2, AWS Step Functions, Lambdas

· Experience in Maven, GIT.

· Experience with agile software development methods

· Experience in Performance Testing and tuning experience of APIs is a plus
