Experience Required Prefer 6-8 years of IBM Mainframe, Windows, Open Systems Linux experience, and previous experience with report archival and retrieval product(s). A technical degree from a College or University and/or relevant proven work experience is required. Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies are required. Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of various business applications, state of the art technology, and current trends in the computer industry is required to evaluate and recommend new technologies. Knowledge of various application designs and programming techniques, usually acquired through related experience, is required to evaluate processes. Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance. The following also are required: Linux Server (Red Hat/CentOS, Ubuntu) networking, operation and troubleshooting. Minimum of eight years of experience is preferred. Strong Linux application level debugging and performance profiling skills. Operational experience with architecting, deploying, and maintaining RedHat Ansible, and optionally Ansible Tower/AWX, is strongly preferred. In-depth familiarity with Distributed Version Control Systems, preferably Git. Familiarity with Github is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins or Drone Virtualization & Hypervisor operation, networking, and troubleshooting. VMware preferred. Understanding of network concepts and technology including IP Addressing (CIDR/Netmasks), VLANs, port trunks, and layer 3 routing. Understanding of firewall operation including VPN tunnels (IPSec, SSL), S/DNAT, security zones, and complex routing scenarios. Understanding of Load Balancer operation and concepts including SSL termination, Layer 4 / Layer 7 differences, architecture options. Programming/Scripting language knowledge (Bash, PowerShell or Python). Minimum of two years of experience is preferred. Experience managing medium to large environments including hardware, software, virtualization, OS management, patch distribution, inventory/asset tracking, and network management is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in this area. Preferred Certification(s): Red Hat Certified Engineer Major Duties/Responsibilities: Consults with partners from systems and other business units regarding new techniques, practices, or technologies in data processing and the impact of proposed and ongoing projects. Evaluates and makes recommendation on techniques, practices, or technologies that would enhance business needs. Also does work to ensure continuous process improvements. Communicates with systems, vendors, and partners at all levels in the business unit, and clients about new technology/systems issues that would enhance current practices/maintain system availability and service level agreements.
