Job Description : It is immediately seeking a CICS Systems Programmer supporting one of our largest Enterprise Government Integrator clients in the Woodlawn, MD area. Client: Enterprise Government Integrator Location: Woodlawn, MD Compensation: Competitive based on years of relevant experience Clearance: Able to Obtain a Public Trust clearance with the SSA Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Develop comprehensive test plans to ensure validation of functional requirements and proper integration testing. Develop and maintain CICS systems level and application software programs and exits using Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Assembler Language Code (ALC) or Java. Perform life cycle management and coordination of software changes across SSA Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Deploy completed software into the life cycle using SSA change management procedures furnished by the work activity manager. Develop and maintain documentation on CICS systems and application software programs. Create new CICS regions and establish appropriate Resource Definition Online (RDO) definitions in support of application requirements for multiple environments life cycles in accordance with CICS region building standards furnished by the work activity manager within the specified planned life cycle deployment timeline. Submit region configurations and all associated JCL, PARM, and RDO changes, via official change form process, on the lifecycle processing to work activity manager. Develop a CICS configuration document, and system architecture. Develop all application post release-related documentation after a production release Experience troubleshooting problems detected in the online applications including Short on Storage and Maxtask conditions. Support CICSPlex Systems Manager and BMC 3270 Super Optimizer for CICS. The contractor shall research compatibility between z/OS, Top Secret, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) & IBM WebSphere MQ Software in relationship to CICS and third party vendor products when issues arise or when upgrades to vendor software or CICS take place Skill in troubleshooting activities such as reading system and application dumps, providing recommendations and performing basic resolution activities. Develop and implement capabilities to monitor the CICS production environment for problems and generate automated alerts. Provide 24x7 on-call SDS support to resolve CICS related problems when they occur. Provide technical expertise on CICS application and configuration related issues. Troubleshoot CICS systems, configuration and application problems, and facilitate the necessary actions required to correct the problem. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree and 7 years of work experience, Masters Degree and 5 years of work experience, or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in CICS regions with the following activities Ability to provide guidance and support regarding the CICS infrastructure including implementation and configuration. Upgrading CICS regions and CICSPlex; Experience with CICS ver 5.5.
