Description: PROJECT/SYSTEM OVERVIEW The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection seeks a goal oriented developer, needed for the assessment, documentation and detangling of a main frame COBOL based applications ASSEMBLER interface code. The successful candidate will have participated in similar projects. Systems Developer plus: Analyzes business needs and documents findings. Will provide continuity by consulting with business customer from definition of business need or problem through implementation of solution. Writes program and system specifications. Defines work and/or data flow. Defines data elements. Designs and develops tables and relationships. Arranges necessary hardware and software availability. Provides and maintains documentation and manuals necessary at customer and operational levels. Trains staff and customers in use of computer systems and software packages. May prepare computer programs for solution of business problems. Performs related duties as required. 3. SCOPE OF WORK: The Systems Developer (SD) will provide system operational oversight to include addressing system failures, documentation and workflows. A primary goal of the work is to unwind Assembler programming that currently controls the NCIC messaging traffic so that a web-service can be established to manage this messaging activity. Specific Services Required: 1.
