The purpose of this position is to collect, review, produce reports, and train staff in leveraging Cyber threat intelligence (CTI). CTI is any information that can help the State of Iowa identify, assess, monitor, and respond to cyber threats. CTI may include: • Indicators of compromise • Tactics and techniques used by threat actors • Actions to detect, contain, or prevent attacks • Findings from the analysis of incidents The SOC Threat Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for the threat intelligence tools and platforms utilized to collect and disseminate CTI. They will compile reports and translate the content into actionable activities for SOC analysts, threat hunters, and information technology staff. The position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating CTI with external OCIO partners. Candidate Requirements: • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or other information security certification. • Must be an individual of high integrity and be a model of unwavering integrity to others. • Strong understanding of security technologies and strategies, including but not limited to firewalls, IDS, policy management, security processes/best-practice, logging/monitoring, antivirus, vulnerability assessment, patch management, and incident response. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers to solve business challenges while balancing the need for confidentiality, integrity, and availability. • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working environment. • Strong understanding of common and emerging attack vectors, penetration methods and countermeasures. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as part of a team of peers, and to support and contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment. • Solid knowledge of conflict resolution and incident escalation.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
