DHS maintains over 5,500 computers and this position will work with our desktop architect to help keep the PCs secure while maintaining the functions that DHS staff need to perform their jobs. This position consults, facilitates, analyzes and designs processes and tasks required for the development of DHS end user computing architecture under the direction of a Desktop Management and Support Section (DMS) Chief. They will help define high level migration plans to move from current to future states, help detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions, oversee the research, evaluation and selection of hardware and software, the design of standard configurations, consult on technology implementations and modification activities for new or shared end user computing solutions. DHS utilizes LANDesk for desktop management. The selected candidate must be able to: 1. Perform and participate in incident handling processes such as incident discovery, analysis and verification, incident tracking, containment and recovery, incident response coordination, escalation and notification. 2. Augment and lead technical teams to perform computer forensics analysis on effected information systems. 3. Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement improvements to enterprise endpoint technology with a goal to enhance the overall security posture of the customer. 4. Produce technical and non-technical security documentation which will enhance internal and external business functions. 5. Cross train with information security peers and business partners to ensure capability is maintained through any scenario. Comment: A federally recognized (ANSI) information security certification must be maintained for this position.
