Do you understand the struggles of technical writers in adopting DITA and how to help them adapt to get the promised value? Can you work with large clients across multiple industries? You will be assigned to small strategic consulting teams (usually with CMS, development, and DevOps specialists) who will be relying on your ability to analyze the clients needs, design strategies for meeting those needs, and work with client authoring groups to transform their content and processes into the proposed approach. You will need to be comfortable working with teammates and be able to successfully advocate the right solutions for the client. Requirements Deep experience in technical documentation, ideally in several industries. You need to be able to fully understand the issues present for the clients documentation teams and gain their confidence through demonstrations of knowledge and ability. Demonstrable expertise in DITA. Knowledge of the DITA standard is not as important as knowing how to apply it. Ability to design solutions. Fundamentally, you must be able to hear client needs, propose approaches, and document them in ways that developers can implement. Experience in new DITA implementation projects or DITA governance. The core of this position is creating DITA content models, taxonomies, and metadata standards. Oral confidence in presenting. This is a consulting role and you will need to be able to present and defend your recommendations to clients. You need to be able to speak up in meetings and you cant fall apart if someone challenges you. Ability to work cooperatively with both team and clients. Most designs go through multiple rounds of critique and refinement. Desired: Experience with Adobe Experience Managers XML Add-on Experience with defining or implementing XSLT stylesheets or other DITA processing.
