Job Description : Sr. Linux Cloud DevOps Engineer responsible for developing and executing deployment packages for deploying, automating, monitoring and supporting Linux-based servers and applications in a cloud hosted environment. The system engineer is expected to be highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position, require minimal work direction and provide best practicing sharing within the work group. Design cloud system solutions that leverage scripts and industry standard tools for Linux system automation and for deploying, automating, monitoring and supporting Linux-based applications. Architect systems meeting technical and business needs within security, scalability, reliability, and performance parameters. Develop, standardize and utilize internal strategies for script, code, testing, and automation versioning. Collaborate with developers, vendors and professional service organizations to plan Linux automation strategies for implementing new systems and services. Provide support for operational systems including supporting upgrades and the resolution of production problems in a timely manner. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience Minimum 5+ years experience deploying and supporting Linux solutions Minimum 2+ years experience supporting Java based applications and server automation. Demonstrated experience with Git-based source control Intermediate knowledge of shell scripting, Bash, Python and/or Ruby Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet Experience with AWS Experience with standard system administrator functions such as server build outs, monitoring, patch/security updates, antivirus, backups, restores, asset management, 24x7 support, pager duty, etc. Demonstrated strong written and oral communications Unwavering operations and customer focus. Creative problem solving skills, attention to detail, motivated pursuit of effective solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience designing and implementing server infrastructure in large cloud environments. Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet, including the ability to create modules and packages based on specifications. Experience deploying custom software packages in cloud environments Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment such as Jenkins. Experience with best practices for managing cloud infrastructure. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery methods for complex applications deployed in multiple regions. Experience with deployment of complex systems deployed across multiple regions for high availability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery. Experience with package management. Experience with Scrum methodologies Hands-on experience supporting large environments (more than 50 servers). Experience with network storage Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group. Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, access, and backup for enterprise wide systems. Technologies supported include operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware and other software applications. Responsibilities: Troubleshoot system issues and resolve or recommend solutions. Create and manage system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures. Create patches and updates as needed. Participate in the definition and implementation of system components including new servers, hardware, software and upgrades.
