Remote Description: The SE Cloud Engineer will work with our cloud team in the planning, design, deployment, and testing of foundational and reusable elements of multi-cloud provisioning automation tools with a goal of facilitating the adoption of cloud computing technologies in support of the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The focus will be on implementing IaaS (infrastructure as a service) and PaaS (platform as a service) controls in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using infrastructure as code built primarily using Terraform. Responsibilities - Cloud Development 1. Develop and implement solutions utilizing IaaS and PaaS components based on campus, customer, regulatory, and security requirements. 2. Develop, implement, and peer review infrastructure as code projects that meet the business needs of customers. 3. Design and implement test plans 4. Write and maintain both service and technical documentation for projects and services. 5. Create, maintain, and follow service and technical documentation for assigned projects and services KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 1. Required Experience designing and implementing cloud-based services using IaaS or PaaS components § Experience with infrastructure as code solutions like CloudFormation, ARM templates, Deployment Manager, Pulumi, or Terra form Experience developing and testing code using modular design patterns Experience creating, maintaining, and following service and technical documentation for assigned projects and services 2.Preferred: Experience with automation, configuration management, package management, or monitoring tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, OpsWorks, AWS Systems Manager, Azure Configuration Manager, Helm, Packer, or Prometheus Experience with regulatory or security benchmarks like FERPA, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-144, or CIS benchmarks   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
