Job Description DBA: ETL Development, Cloud, SQL Queries, Data Engineer

Note: This is a huge priority for us and we have direct communication with the hiring manager. The person in this role was converting full-time, but put in his two weeks notice and has moved onto another company. This is an immediate need and they will hire ASAP. The team is working remote and its ideal if someone could relocate in the future if/when things change with COVID. This will be a long-term consulting opportunity. Candidates need to be able to start 2 weeks from date of offer.

Job Description:

The Cloud Data Engineer is different from the role of a database administrator. A Cloud Data Engineers scope of work goes well beyond looking after a database and the server where its hosted. Cloud Data Engineers must also get, ingest, transform, validate, and clean up data to meet business requirements. This process is called data wrangling.

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will be working in complex data warehouse environments. Will maintain one data marts in ADCS as well as work on Business Intelligence reporting solutions. Our team is responsible for ensuring data that is critical for analytical reports and metrics and are viewed at the highest levels in the organization.

A Cloud Data Engineer should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and to build data sets that answer those questions. You should be expert at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing applications. You should be able to work with business customers in a fast paced environment understanding the business requirements and implementing reporting solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Building tools and data pipelines, can partner with stakeholders to answer key business questions. You will also have the opportunity to display your skills in the following areas:

· Owning the design, operations and improvements for the organizations Datawarehouse infrastructure.

· Engineering solutions to aggregate and automate data flows from varying sources.

· Collaborate with Engineers and Specialists in the organization to construct complex data sources for algorithms and machine learning models.

· Explore and learn the latest Cloud technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.

· Build, analyze and present actionable data to drive business and product management decisions.

· Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.

· Proactively solves unique & complex problems

· Provides technical expertise in developing frameworks for enterprise databases

· Researches and suggests new technologies to improve database performance

· Provides support for database development, enhancement and migrations

· Maintains documentations for system for reference purposes

· Develops effective develop solutions to ensure system performance and productivity

· Cloud Data Engineer and develops new integrations as required

· Designs databases, repositories, operational data stores, data warehouses and data marts

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge

- Thorough working knowledge of multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, multiple development platforms, and systems integration.

- Considerable working knowledge of physical data models, technical architecture, system interfaces, etc.

- Considerable working knowledge of normalized and dimensional modeling
