This position is responsible for resolving abends as part of a 24 x7 on-call rotation, researching Prebill issues and supporting other team members in the resolution of business issues for the VISION billing system. The position may also be assigned small projects for improving performance, addressing job abends and other requests by the business. This position is responsible for analysis and troubleshoot, design, programming, and testing of fixes to production issues along with the communication of analysis and results to the business. Analysis and Troubleshooting Investigating the reported issue and recreating it, if possible. The analysis can include investigating several subsystems within the Vision Billing system to get to the root causes of issues and provide the proper fix. On-call support - Provide on-call coverage as part of at 24 x7 on-call rotation that includes days, nights, weekend and holidays. Respond to errors and emergencies within applications and programs. Coding of software Writing of the code in COBOL language to deliver functional requirements for the vision application. This includes the unit testing of the code as well as the integration testing of code with interfacing software applications internal and external when it applies. This also involves working on CSRs (service requests) from the business. Provide assistance to other members of the team including reviewing their approach to resolving a problem, analysis assistance, brainstorming, technical assistance and guidance and overall guidance to the proper root cause analysis coding and testing. MUST HAVE SKILLS: 6+ years of relevant work experience Strong technical and analytical skills PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Gmail, etc.) Strong business knowledge In-depth knowledge of information systems concepts Strong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures Strong interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills 6+ years experience with COBOL / DB2 V11 / CA7 / JCL / SQL Candidate must have strong problem solving and communication skills, data processing functions, methods and procedures and be able to perform expert-level engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer software and embedded systems Must be okay with working nights and weekends as needed** EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field REQUIRED SHIFT: 24 x7 on-call rotation that includes days, nights, weekend and holidays.
