Local candidates only Description : • Responsible for identifying and resolving End-user problems and issues or referring them to the appropriate area for resolution. When issues cannot be resolved remotely, Service Help Desk personnel are required to make arrangements to provide on-site service. All calls and tickets are tracked via the ServiceNow system. Routine follow-up is done to assure customer satisfaction. • Documents all problems and troubleshooting steps taken into ServiceNow, for tracking purposes and future reference. Regularly reviews assigned issues in ServiceNow to ensure prompt resolution of issues. • Provides technical guidance, support, and problem resolution to End-users for hardware, operating systems, and application software. • Performs services related to vendor warranties and service contracts, such as logging, tracking, and reporting service incidents related to IT hardware issues. This requires initiating contact with hardware vendors and following-up with the customer after services are performed. • Images, installs, and configures hardware and software on new computer systems, and installs and configures hardware and software upgrades for new or existing computer systems. • Provides support for all computer hardware and peripherals, to include setup and installation of local printers and scanners. Is knowledgeable in hardware configurations, server and mainframe connections, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN connectivity issues. • Installs and runs anti-virus software programs to detect and eliminate computer viruses upon detection by McAfee or FireEye software. Performs a hard disk reimage in case the viruses cannot be removed. • Maintains a working knowledge of current software products in use within the OA-GGDC Consolidated Agencies. Provides technical software support including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and graphic functions. • Assists with the testing of new hardware and software to determine benefits or liabilities to organizations. Prepares special projects for users as requested. Assists in preparing system documentation for effective use, maintenance, and operation of automated systems. • Performs related work as required. Preferred Skills and Experience: • 5+ Years: Experience with PC hardware performing installations, configurations and troubleshooting • College degree or equivalent technical study • Knowledge of Windows deployment tools and other specialized software used to create and automate images • Experience in building and deploying an image utilizing software applications • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to multitask and work under pressure and short timelines • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization • Ability to lift and or maneuver IT hardware up to 50 pounds   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
