Description :

This position will support the Client with decision-making and program management functions for a large employer-based health insurance program. The position will assist with the operations of the data warehouse, will perform a variety of data analytics, and will develop program reports and dashboards. Specifically, the position will perform a variety of analytics pertaining to population health, cost, utilization, cost/benefit, data quality, financial trends, health plan and provider performance, provider network access, clinical quality performance, and health outcome gaps. In addition, the position will be responsible for working with staff to identify business needs and design, develop and deliver a variety of reports and dashboards to make data available for management of the program. The position will also be responsible for training others on the availability and use of reports and dashboards. This person will work with others to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and assist with the development of the business intelligence and data warehouse strategy.
To succeed in this role, you need a fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and deep understanding of data analysis tools and databases. You should also be an excellent communicator whos able to tell the story behind raw data to non-technical audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Query multiple, complex databases and systems to produce data sets for review and analysis.
• Perform a variety of analytics pertaining to population health, cost, utilization, cost/benefit, data quality, financial trends, health plan and provider performance, provider network access, clinical quality performance, and health outcome gaps.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a variety of standard, ad-hoc and customized reports.
• Create robust, accurate, and timely analytic reports, scorecards, and dashboards.
• Apply data analysis and design techniques to organize the presentation of data in effective ways to make it easier to understand, insightful, and actionable.
• For each analytic or reporting request ask the questions and/or initiate the discussions necessary for clear understanding, by all parties, of the expected deliverable(s).
• Provide support to users in interpreting and presenting data, including presentation of data to individuals and groups.
• Document within each report how reports are created, how data is analyzed, and how metrics are defined.
• Maintain team repository of reusable data formulas, visualization templates, and views.
• Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
• Assist in database quality assurance audits and testing.
• Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems.
• Analyze data to identify inconsistencies, report them to senior employees and follow through to make sure they are adequately addressed.
• Proactively identify sources of information either internal or external to enhance the database.
• Assist in user acceptance testing as needed.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in healthcare and other related data.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in the products (software, data) and services.
• Stay current on new and emerging data management and analytical technologies.
