The primary responsibility of the role is to implement role based access layer for EDW and other tools by business function. The access management engineer will be responsible for gathering the requirements and work with infrastructure and Database DBA teams in implementing the solution. This person will also provide recommendations on proper design for building the access layer for EDW. Responsibilities: • Design and Implement Role Based Access Layer for End User Queries and Reporting • Determine best approach and design for building appropriate access design for EDW, Data marts, Data stage, SAS & Microstrategy Reporting Tools • Segregate views and tables by business function in EDW and create mapping documents • Build Segregated views for PII and Non PII Data • Guide and lead access reviews for data platform • Develop a process to identify personal identifiers like SSN etc across EDW tables and views • Performance tuning of poorly performing SQL queries • Proactively gather workload characteristics from EDW and provide recommendations to the DBAs for workload adjustments • Estimate and communicate the work effort to EDW management, Stakeholders and own the deliverables from inception, review and signoff of the deliverables. • May need to perform other EDW Platform functions like capacity planning, SLAs, monitoring etc Basic Qualifications: • Bachelors degree preferably in computer science • 4 years of experience in Application DBA role design and implementation of EDW access layer • 4 years of experience in design and implementation of role based access layer for multiple data platform tools like EDW, reporting, ETL etc • 2 year of experience in leading access reviews for a tool • 4 years of SQL writing and SQL performance tuning experience • Experience in DB2 Role Design • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with business users, DBAs and application developers Preferred Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in Data warehousing • Experience in all EDW ITIL functions   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
