This position is needed to maintain minimum staffing needs of the Oracle Database Services team. The clients Oracle team manages the data for the majority of the States agency applications. Select client agencies have systems, which are dependent upon this team for the maintenance of their back-end data. Agency applications are dependent upon timely response to accurate and secure data. The Senior Database Analyst will support Oracle databases to ensure data integrity, security, and stability. This position will be responsible to provide adequate computer resources and up-to-date software environment to our various customers. Individual must stay current with new database software releases and support product software upgrades to provide new functional and efficiency options to different applications. Troubleshooting database design and addressing performance issues to assist with application performance and data throughput is also a major role of this position. The Senior Database Analyst is needed to provide the degree of support that our agency customers currently expect and also to meet their future needs. Essential Duties/Responsibilities This position will be responsible for monitoring and tuning database performance. It ensures that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies. The position loads, or assists in loading of, database software, upgrade and patching. This position will assist with the evaluation and selection of infrastructure components and provide operational support for the database, ensuring data integrity, database availability, and performance. It will provide resolutions to technical problems. This position will also assist management with short/long-range planning for hardware and software changes and additions. Individual should be abreast with Oracle Goldengate 11g and 12c in both integrated and classic capture/replication. They will be responsible for upgrading and patching Goldengate binaries as well as troubleshooting extract or relicat abends and errors. Additional skill set in migrating extracts or replicats to integrated mode will be expected as well. Administer Oracle 10g, 11g, & 12c stand-alone, RAC, and FailSafe environments on Windows 2008 R2, and Windows 2012 as well as AIX, RedHat, & Oracle Linux platforms which include Exadata and Oracle forms 11G. Job Requirements Minimum of 7 years Oracle DBA experience. Experience working in Database Administration for Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c stand-alone, RAC, and Exadata environments on Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 and Linux. Oracle database software installation and software patching experience is needed. Must have in-depth knowledge of monitoring, tuning and database design standards. Project management skills, ANSI SQL & PL\SQL Programming and a working knowledge of ETL operations a bonus.
