Candidate must be our W2 Employee Description: Chevron Downstream and Chemicals IT – Information & Integration team is seeking a System DBA to support a set of central database repositories (MARS) that supports over 30 applications in DS&C IT, spans a significant range of the order to cash data flow and covers platforms from OLTP to data warehouses. The role of a System DBA is to provide execution in developing, testing and implementing database tables, views and stored procedures, as well as executing routine database administration tasks to ensure performance and compliance. This System DBA role will focus on operational support and change requests as needed, leveraging strong database coding skills to create reliable and maintainable database solutions. This role will also uphold database coding standards through example, communication and code review. Required Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline • Demonstrated database coding experience • Strong/proficient SQL Server technical skillset, at least 2+ years of experience • At least 7-10+ year experience as a System DBA or Application DBA experience within a Windows Enterprise environment required • Experience developing, executing, maintaining ETL programs • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Management Information Systems or Information Technology domain in a database related role -Visual Studio development experience • Possess strong technical aptitude with a desire to focus on database related tasks -Strong communication and project coordination skills -Candidates local to Bay Area required – worker will be required Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Datastage, an ETL tool -Managing databases in Azure Cloud environment Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Develop and implement database tables, views and stored procedures • Plan, coordinate, and execute upgrades reliably without impact to dependent systems • Ensure data integrity by monitoring database health and performance, and taking proactive action to remediate issues • Assist with refactoring and modernization efforts and migration of databases in scope to the cloud (Azure) • Conduct technical specification and code reviews, assessing other developers work and presenting your work for assessment by others • Analyze queries for performance improvement opportunities • Write and review technical specifications • Enforce standards and promote best practices • Develop, maintain and/or review physical data models as project/enhancement documentation to ensure compliance with all database standards • Maintain knowledge of data stores and how they are leverage by applications and services • Present standard and best practices to others, reinforcing with samples, templates and patterns Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
