Server management is a primary responsibility, and the System Administrator would be responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading servers. They are also responsible for ensuring the servers are backed up, and that the server operating systems are patched on a regular schedule. Some light programming may be required (powershell, vbscripts, etc.). In depth knowledge of VMware virtual technology is required. Planning and responding to service outages and other problems is a key to this role. Other duties for a System Administrator: • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems • Introducing and integrating new technologies into the existing data center • Performing routine audits of systems • Performing backups • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes • Installing and configuring new hardware and software • Answering technical questions and working with end users for tier 2 support • Responsible for documenting the configuration of a system • Troubleshooting reported problems • System performance tuning • Ensuring the systems infrastructure is up and running • After-hours support is possible (with compensation) To qualify for this position, you must have: • HP server hardware knowledge • Virtual technology experience (VMware is required) • Application virtualization experience (MS AppV or ThinApp is preferrable) • Enterprise tape backup experience (Commvault is preferable) • MS Exchange 2007/2010 administration experience • MS Distributed File System (DFS) experience • Anti-Virus administration experience (MS Forefront and Symantec is preferable) • Spam filtering administration experience (Barracuda is preferable) • Active Directory experience • DNS/WINS/DHCP experience • Windows directory sharing and permissions experience • SAN technology knowledge would be beneficial but not required (Hitachi and Brocade is preferable) • MS System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager knowledge would be beneficial but not required • HP Systems Insight Manager would be beneficial but not required • RSA 2-factor authentication knowledge would be beneficial but not required   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
