The Software Development team executes web development projects that are a combination of coding and integration with internal and third-party web applications. Responsibilities: o Integrate internally developed and third-party web applications for Clients web sites. o Develop new and enhance existing client-side JavaScript code, CSS/HTML and/or CMS (Saxotech Online) templates. Elegantly tie pieces together to meet business needs while maintaining performance and not introducing complexity. o Develop advanced fully functional browser based products across the popular versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. This includes understanding the capabilities and limitations of the supported browsers and the impact on products from a functionality, performance, security, and privacy perspective. Must be able to evaluate the impact of planned browser releases on products through evaluation of beta and release documentation. o Perform back-end server-side development on Windows and Open-Source platforms. o Integrate applications with other third party web applications such as web analytics, social networking and web advertising systems. o Develop solutions and applications that scale across 100 unique markets and web sites in a multisite hosting architecture. o Develop to standards to ensure quality control, application performance, functionality, and other industry best practices. o Debug applications as needed. Perform functional testing. o Utilize bug and enhancement tracking software and processes. Use version control systems effectively. o Document solutions to institutionalize knowledge for the development, operational, support, and end user communities o Embrace changing priorities productively understanding it is required in todays business environment Experience / Qualification: o Minimum 6 years web software development and integration experience – ideally dealing with media related web sites. o Experience with Web 2.0, advanced JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX, JSON, HTML/XHTML, CSS, Custom Tag Libraries, etc… o Fluent in Object Oriented JavaScript programming techniques. o Experience coding to support multiple browsers. o Knowledge and practical application of DOM management. o Performance minded coding techniques. o Experience in managing common design and JavaScript libraries across multiple sites o Unit testing and debugging using tools such as Firebug and YSlow. o Experience with the following kinds of technologies: Windows, IIS, .net, LAMP, Open-Source, C++/#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Subversion. Built applications and product based on these technologies that scale in a multi-tiered, multi-site highly available web environment. o Demonstrated professional development experience with Web Services frameworks such as JavaScript AJAX, API development, SOAP, and JSON. o Practical knowledge of software development lifecycle o Excellent team player that is flexible and can execute on assigned tasks, adjust to changing business priorities and plans.
