The Chief Data Office is building data related services to support agencies in leveraging their data as strategic assets and in protecting the value and integrity of those data assets. Several of these services are new, but they are in demand and integral components of the states data strategy. The Chief Data Office is also the owner of the Joint Agency Interoperability (JAI) project. The JAI project is a collaboration between OIT, the CO Departments of Human of Services (CDHS) and Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) with the objective of making the right data to the right people at the right time for the right purpose. This involves building out critical elements and services for promoting secure, effective and efficient integrations of data consistent with the state data strategy. These include: business intelligence/analytics, data governance, API-based data integrations, and data sharing. In addition, the Chief Data Office manages and chairs the Government Data Advisory Board, mandated to advise the State Chief Information Officer on an interdepartmental data sharing protocol. The Chief Data Office also collaborates with agency partners to mature their data management and data governance practices in according to best practices and standards across the state. This position is being created to support data governance efforts within the Joint Agency Interoperability program. The Data Modeler role reports to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and implements the data governance software and processes defined for JAI. The software in use is Erwin Data Modeler and Data Governance deployed on Amazon Web Services. The Data Modeler will perform the installation, where necessary, and maintenance of the softwares functioning to support JAI and the systems use for other programs within CDHS and other departments. The Data Modeler will also implement the data governance processes within the ERWin tool as well. This position will work with the JAI Program Manager to ensure deliverables are met within the time frames define and with the resources devoted to the project. Work with other OIT Technical resources to install, manage and update the data modeler and data governance software as well as manage connections between these tools and various operational data source systems. Deploy metadata repositories used in data governance practices based on the metamodel defined by the Data Architect and populate and administer the metadata repositories. Generate deliverables from the repositories including data lexicons, data dictionaries, and various data artifacts along with reports and analysis. Reverse engineer and document data schemas in the ERWin tool for data systems incorporated into JAI. This documentation will provide background information for data sharing and integrations. Assist in supporting data stewardship groups within state agencies, particularly CDHS and supporting other data governance and data discovery efforts in the agency and helping the agency in understanding data models and metadata. Ability to understand and support a Data Development LifeCycle Diagnosing and resolving permission issues associated with tool administration. Familiarity with one or more RDBMS environment including Oracle, SQL Server, Greenplum, Postgres.
