Job Description Modeler: Data Modeler, ERwin, Data Architect, Data Models TSQL PLSQL SQL Server Oracle

[Note : The position has a flexible bill rate based on experience and the position is approved all the way through 2012 and potentially through 2013]

Job Title: Data Modeler

Overview:

Under limited supervision; designs, develops, modifies and evaluates logical and physical data models and builds data migration strategies. Works with business analysts, system analysts, and data architects to translate the business requirements into models.

This position requires a solid understanding of the Managed Care Health Care environment including but not limited to claims processing, member and provider management, case and care management, health care industry standard codes sets such as provider taxonomy codes (HPTC), common procedure codes (HCPCS), and general code sets (USPS), institutional and professional billing preferably within the data warehouse space.

Responsibilities:

1.With limited supervision generates conceptual and logical models (staging and integrative) for the healthcare domain.

2.With limited supervision, generates data profiles.

3.With limited supervision, participates in Metadata gathering and modeling.

4.With limited supervision, participates in ETL by definition of source and target mapping specifications.

Qualifications:

*Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree(s).

Experience:

* Requires a minimum of 2 years of Managed Care domain experience.
* Requires a minimum of 5 years of Data Modeling experience.

Technical Skills:

Required:

* Strong business analysis and problem solving skills.
* Strong understanding of data integration concepts.
* Erwin data modeling experience, with 3rd NF, star schema, and snow flake.
* Must have experience working with databases >4 terabytes.
* Understanding of multiple data architectures and methods that can support a data warehouse.
* Experience in various data requirements elicitation, analysis and validation techniques
* Familiarity with data analysis artifacts and tools.
* Experience in designing enterprise level logical and physical data models that capture complex data relationships for data warehousing environments.
* Experience with logical multi-dimensional physical data models.
* Experience with T-SQL & PL/SQL.
* Experience w/ SQL Server, Oracle 10g and Teradata 13.
* Understands impact of data modeling decisions on system performance and resource usage.

Knowledge of health care industry specific standards such as data transmission format (ANSI ASC X12N), diagnoses and procedure codes (ICD-9/10, CPT4), uniform bill codes (UB 92), and data exchange message protocols (HL-7, LOINC, SNOMED).
