Job Description Modeler: Data Analysis, Data Modeler, MDM, Data Architect ERwin ETL

SKILL SET:

Strong Communication Skills
5-7 years of professional experience (more experience is preferred)
Strong database design with Oracle and Teradata
Expert level Logical Data Modeling experience using Erwin
Physical and Conceptual Data Modeling experience


Minimum of six (6) years of experience in data modeling and data analysis.

. Must have strong Data Modeling and data analysis skills.

. Designs logical data models of medium to high complexity.

. Experience with Enterprise Data Modeling.

. Demonstrated logical modeling experience with large scale, multiple business solutions across divisions or enterprise.

. Ability to communicate strategies and process around data modeling, MDM and data architecture to cross functional groups.

. Understands the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between application systems and business functions/operations.

. This position identifies opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses and single sources of data.

. Demonstrated experience to develop consensus.

Technical Characteristics:

. Understands the fundamental concepts and architectural principles of Data Management.
. Possesses full life cycle experience in Data Management/Architecture.
. Architects to translate business requirements into model specifications.
. Evolves data models to meet new and changing business requirements.
. Coordinates business requirements for data needs.
. Communicates physical database designs to database administrator.

. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable working in a large organization across multiple teams.
. Good decision-making capabilities possessing both conceptual and analytical skills.
. Able to communicate effectively with all levels in a clear and professional manner, verbally and written.
. Ability to problem solve and multitask.
. Must possess competency in all phases of software development.
. Good understanding of MPP and or large Sump environments.
. Will be working as a team member on the Information Management/Data Architecture team. - Must be able to interact with ETL Architects, Developers and DBAs on how the Data Model works and be able to make enhancements based on new and future requirements. - Be able to communicate to business users and program sponsors the decisions made in the data model for optimal performance.

SECONDARY

Responsible for the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the transformation of business requirements into logical data models.

. Works on medium to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments.

. Works on one or more projects as a project team member or sometimes as a project lead.

. May coach more junior technical staff.
DUTIES
Looking for a strong Data Modeler/ Analyst. Will be gathering and interpreting data requirements for various Enterprise and Application logical models. In this role, the Modeler will be accountable for analyzing and developing complex logical data models in support of corporate and customer information requirements. The Modeler will investigate the business data requirements in detail and develop the logical data model. The Modeler will need to analyze source system data via data profiling; Perform logical data modeling using ERwin; Create model metadata. Will coordinate both peer data model review and user model review, along with handoff with Application DBAs and the ETL development team. Must have strong Data Modeling and data analysis skills.
