Develops and extends data architecture to support increasing user demands and application requirements. Provides knowledge and expertise of enterprise data to lead the process of modeling the business and delivering value to the business users. Develops logical database design through in-depth understanding of business needs and functions and available data sources. Applies knowledge of target database technologies to develop efficient physical models from logical design. Designs and develops correct, complete, and resilient ETL processes. Provides expertise in reviewing and explaining data models. Consults with business to resolve complex data issues. Assesses and evaluates risk to understand the implications of design decisions and new technologies. Consults with database administration to tune database performance, track performance and capacity, and resolve complex issues. Uses expertise to evaluate market trends and provide input into the selection of tools and any necessary migration into the companys environment. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Leads and mentors other team members to develop team capability. Qualifications Bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 5-10 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, data entity analysis, logical and relational database design. Experience with Informatica, Vertica, Oracle, and Unix/Linux/Shell Scripting preferred. Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
