Migrating Datastax Cassandra servers to Open Source Cassandra will be one of the primary responsibilities of this position. And, also the position is responsible to build and setup Open Source Cassandra ring on AWS platform in non-production environment. This position provides consulting to the Applications Development Staff to correctly develop application database design models. The position is responsible for developing and enforcing organization wide data and database design standards, operational procedures and software interfaces. Incumbent exercises considerable judgment in the resolution of technical problems and in all administrative and professional situations. Work is performed under limited supervision and is evaluated while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, discussion, review of established procedures and achievement of desired results. This position is required to collaborate cross functional on-shore and off-shore teams to carry out the migration effort. MUST HAVE SKILLS: Three to Five years of hands on experience in installing, setup a multi data center ring, manage and administrate Open Source Cassandra Three to Five years of hands on experience on Linux One or two years of hands on experience in migrating Cassandra from Datastax platform to Open Source Cassandra Two to Three years of experience in designing database models for Cassandra. Three to Five years of experience in trouble shooting production issues Implement best practices to improve overall system performance Experience in developing CICD using Ansible Experience in managing AWS EC2 instances Experience in automating code deployments with Jenkins Experience in load testing tools in order to stress test open source Cassandra One or two years of experience in loading server performance logs to ElasticSearch through Logstash Coding experience on Lucene and Java scripting. Ability to work independently, and multi-task under short deadlines, based upon general direction Effective Verbal and Written Communication DESIRED SKILLS: Building a dashboard using Kibana to present Cassandra servers performance metrics Having experience in writing Spark/Scala code Having working experience on other NoSql solutions like PostgreSQL, MySql, etc Having working experience on Bigdata tools like Hive, hBase, Kafka, etc EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience."
