Ensures integrity, control, and accessibility of data for multiple concurrent users. Respondible for standards and design of database maintenance, security administration, and physical data storage. Performs backup and recovery. Configures database perameters and defines data dictionaries, warehouse, and data repository requirements. Manages database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, performance, and cost. Acts as liasion with internal and external customers to develop data solutions with current data warehouse structures. Develops and creates reports using various data sources. Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or other related field. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Superior written and oral communication skills. 6-10+ years of experience. JOB TITLE: Adabas DBA JOB DUTIES: 7 years Adabas DBA experience including Creating, modifying, and maintaining files Be able to maintain databases, reorders, backups, modifications, Adabas utilities. Know how to increase Adabas databases. Knowledge of Adabas Vista, overall understanding of file translation. Famliarity with Software AG Review: write basic reports, start, stop, interpret. Familiarity with AOS. Completely conversant in mainframe JCL, editors, PDS and datasets. MUST HAVE SKILLS: Experience using Adareps Experience with Adasel Utilizing Predict to maintain files, fields, DDEs, DDMs, and unloading/loading Predict Data Minimum of 3 to 5 years Adabas DBA experience, including Natural Security experience in creating and maintaining users, files, groups. Some understanding of Native Adabas SQL, programming and statements. Minimum of one year Natural programming experience, batch and online, structured and not. DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with SQL Gateway, maintaining and implementing userviews. One year of Rexx programming experience Minor experience in SAS SMF record formats Understanding of plogging and how Adares Regenerate works. Can read, understand, and explain Adabas shutdown statistics and reports.
