Candidate must be our W2 Employee. Job Description: Our client is seeking a Oracle DBA to join their team to help with the heavy work load. This is a 4-6 month contract opportunity with the possibility of extensions or full-time hire after. This is one of the best employers to work for in the area and join a highly technical team. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited: Independently analyzes, optimizes, implements, and maintains the database platforms. Researches, evaluates, and implements new database technologies, such as Hadoop and data warehouse appliances, cloud technologies, advanced encryption and high availability (such as Oracle DataGuard or Microsoft AlwaysOn). Serves as the primary architects for our clients database architecture; provides strategic recommendations to leadership on database consolidation, versioning, and platform adoption to ensure youre maximizing use of the technologies deployed. Implements, and maintains security technologies for all database platforms throughout the enterprise. Performs cross-platform referential integrity, capacity planning, index maintenance, backup/restore operations, ongoing monitoring, and security/access control of enterprise databases. Independently develops reference materials (database schema diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported database technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff. Independently manages assigned projects and meets deadlines. Serves as both a professional and technical mentor to other Database Administrators. Proactively identifies areas of improvement (process or technical) and develops plans for associated changes required. Independently leads process improvement initiatives approved by Supervisor and/or Manager. Interfaces with clients, vendors, and other teams on multi-faceted projects involving database platform technologies. Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents as escalated from the Technology Service Center.
