Performs in one of the following sub-roles: (1) Data Base Administrator: designs and configures complex databases with replication and multi-nodes, develops comprehensive DB implementation/upgrade plans, translates logical to physical design, creates DB objects, builds backup/recovery/load scripts, and can support development thru production. Proficiency in database and/or SQL analysis and tuning; (2) Data Administrator: creates, analyzes, translates, and maintains complex logical and/or physical data models, metadata respositories, and data catalogues. Maintains security event logs. Ensures all productions changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource. Database Management Analyst - Advanced - Database Management Analyst - Advanced Skills *Either skills or additional skills are required Skills: Category Name Required Importance Level Last Used Experience Operating Systems/APIs DB2 Yes 1 Intermediate 7-8 Currently Using Additional Skills: Experience/skills Required: 4+ Years of experience installing/configuring/deploying/managing DB2 LUW in a large scale enterprise environment (preferably on Linux) Proficiency in Python, PERL, Shell Scripting and macros required, Java/JDBC knowledge a plus Strong knowledge of DB2 internals Detailed knowledge of DB2 LUW security related configuration (SSL client connectivity, user and permission management, encryption capabilities) Detailed knowledge of DB2 LUW backup/recovery facilities. Experience in performance tuning of DB2 LUW at database and application levels (strong DB performance and SQL coding/tuning skills required) In depth knowledge of and experience with IBM-provided SQL functions and stored procedures for analyzing database and application performance Ability to script/automate repetitive processes (software install, instance/database creation, backup/restore) Ability to troubleshoot DB2 LUW issues at database and OS (I/O, CPU, memory) levels Experience with automated deployment tools (Puppet preferred) Responsibilities will include: Development of automated installation and patching procedures for DB2 LUW server/client and related products Development of automated instance/database deployment procedures Configuration and tuning of DB2 LUW databases for optimal availability and performance Development of strategies for and implementation of data recovery (backup/restore) and user/permission management in accordance with firm standards Configuration and deployment of SSL fo   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
