Description: As a member of the TeachSmart Team, this position is responsible for development, analysis, and maintenance of systems that capture, interrelate, and report data for the Department of Public Instruction. This includes, but is not limited to, applications that focus on teacher licensing, data collection, school setup, documentation, customer management software, and reporting applications. These systems require extensive knowledge and experience developing complex applications, reports, and relational databases. This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile\Scrum development methodology, where traditional software development methodologies may be used for special assignments. The candidate will perform coding and programming tasks for both front-end and back-end applications and internet services. This position is also needed in order to meet the agencys strategic goals and initiatives, providing value and support to Wisconsins education system (public school districts and public schools, State schools, charter schools, and private/Choice schools). The focus of this position is to perform .NET development using Microsoft Stacked Technology or current software. Database development will be performed using Oracle or SQL Server, or current database. Under general supervision of the Teach Smart Team manager, the person in this position is responsible for performing the work of an analyst/programmer. This person works closely with others to accomplish project objectives, or independently to accomplish daily work requirements as a member of the team. Objectives, priorities, and deadlines are established in consultation with the department program area leaders, the IT managers, and/or project manager. A. Development, enhancement, and maintenance of application programs and procedures following Agile/Scrum Methodologies 1. Serve as applications programmer for new and existing Internet applications using Microsoft Stacked Technology. 2. Analyze existing systems; provide design recommendations for improved performance and data integrity checks. 3. Design, test, debug and document new complex programs/procedures and make revisions to existing programs/procedures to meet the changing needs and requirements of DPI. 4. Develop and update documentation for customers and other applications technology staff. 5. Integrate and coordinate development efforts with other programming staff. 6. Participates in all Scrum ceremonies and meetings. 7. Works with other technical specialists to help prioritize technical needs in projects. 8. Develop Agile user stories, estimates, and schedules with the other information technologies or program area staff within DPI. 9. Monitor the progress of projects. B.
