Locals preferred** General Responsibilities: " Participate in designing, developing, and testing applications in multiple system environments. " Conduct software integration and external interface development. Combine multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. " Determine technical requirements, develops technical user stories and software requirements specifications that serve as the build-to specification for development " Apply, as appropriate, data modeling, transaction/workflow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods. " Review and prepares system documents and technical specifications " Prepare reports, studies, and documentation, delivers presentations, and participates in meetings. Provide technical direction to development teams. " Interact with Application Support and coordinate any patch and code deployments with System Administration teams. " Understand the various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. Lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation Skills and Knowledge: " Experience with design and development of software at multiple architecture tiers including user interface, shared application services, database services, security, networking " 3+ years of experience as an Technical Development Lead in a Service Oriented Architecture based projects " 6+ years of proficiency in Java and web development. Must be proficient in following: Java 1.6, Spring, HTML, Oracle 11g, JDBC, Hibernate, J2EE HTTP(S)/SOAP/WSDL, Web Services Interoperability and Standards, MQ " Broad knowledge of software technologies utilized in IT application development in the insurance field: o 5+ years of proficiency in Java and web development o 3+ years of knowledge in Web services and Enterprise Service Bus technologies. o 3+ years of knowledge in Business rule management systems o 2+ Data warehousing technologies, ETL technologies, and Business Intelligence tools. o 3+ years of knowledge in Security technologies including security tools/protocols and LDAP repositories o 2+ years knowledge in IBM Datapower XI50 and XI52 o Knowledge in Acord framework is a big plus o Knowledge in Enterprise content management technologies is a big plus " Knowledge of architecture frameworks and architecture modeling tools and notations. " Experience in technology product evaluation and selection, including both software and hardware technologies. " Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical teams and Business partners.
