What youll do As a Project manager/Scrum Master you will provide direction to development teams working to implement this service. You will establish and maintain the workflow, tools and processes that the development team(s) will use on a daily basis. You will have the pulse of your team(s) and use planning and retrospectives effectively to make process adjustments that optimize both their performance and their sense of purpose. Youll choose the best tools to track progress, surface insights, and communicate metrics to other stakeholders. As part of this effort, you will bring to DFML the Lean and Agile development practices that have been proven so successful for private sector digital product development. • The DFML team will seek to minimize hierarchy and empower each team member to recommend and implement ideas they believe will make the program successful, ultimately creating the best service possible for the Commonwealths constituents. Your management expertise and knowledge of Lean and Agile will be sought by product and business leaders who are looking for guidance on how to best leverage the strengths of your team. Youll focus on: • Establishing a Lean/Agile workflow for the teams you will guide. • Getting to know the individuals you are working with - their strengths, weaknesses, and motivations - so you can understand team capacity. • Constantly polling the needs of the user, the scope of stories and epics, and the technical hurdles that need to be overcome to deliver those features. • Communicating the state of progress to all stakeholders on a daily basis. How youll be supported The EOLWD / DFML technology team will have support and oversight from the Commonwealths executive technology leadership from EOLWD and the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS). Where youll work The EOLWD / DFML technology team works in the Hurley Building at 19 Staniford Street, which is located in the center of downtown Boston.
