As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer you will be responsible for the design, configuration and support of a highly scalable business services deployed to the Dell Digital cloud. You will work with the infrastructure team to support and improve our virtualized environment consisting of both Linux and Windows servers, database and middleware services. Working across engineering teams, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations are scalable and continuous, employing innovative methods for rapid provisioning and deployment of virtual environments ensuring reliable monitoring, management and reporting solutions. Work cross functionally with technology groups to ensure reliable delivery to our customers and rapid development of new products by our development team. We are looking for innovative and driven engineers with a passion for technology and desire to transform infrastructure practice as we know it. Skills and Experience Must have strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Bash, Powershell, JavaScript, etc.) Must have familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMwaer Cloud) Must have familiarity with cloud configuration automation (AWS CFT, Azure ARM, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Vagrant, etc.) Must be familiar with developing programmatic access to infrastructure and resources using API management tools (Apigee, Layer 7, etc.) Must have strong understanding and proven experience with VMware virtualization technology (vSphere, vRealize Suite, vCloud Director) Must have familiarity with containers and serverless computing technology (Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, etc.) Detailed understanding of virtual networking (Vmware NSX, VPCs, etc.) and protocols (TCP/IP, IPv6, SSL/TLS, HTTP, DNS) Familiarity with build and CI/CD tools desired (Gitlab, Jenkins, Travis CI, etc.) Knowledge of networking (multicast/IGMP, IP routing, firewalls, load-balancers, etc.) Basic understanding of industry standard database (SQL, Mongo, Postgres, etc.) Multiple platform/OS experience desired (Linux, Windows). Must possess independent problem-solving skills and ability to take tasks from concept to completion Strong written/verbal communication skills required to interface with developers and customers Ability to travel to meet project requirements (occasional) Responsibilities Engineer and develop infrastructure automation services supporting modern application development standards enabling infrastructure as code Design and engineer infrastructure technologies in support of best practice, business continuity, performance/reliability, and security requirements Transition solutions from architecture through operations including implementation, testing, go live, operating procedures, monitoring and performance/capacity management Develop, maintain and support system standards through configuration management and automation scripting and tools Ensure appropriate system monitoring, alerting and reporting is implemented and supported globally including uptime, performance, capacity, and utilization/show back.
