We provide enterprise level information technology services including network management and security; computer operations; application hosting; desktop provisioning and management; and, modern and responsive digital services to 40,000 internal stakeholders plus the residents, business owners and visitors to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is seeking to hire an Enterprise Cloud Architect (ECA) to join our EOTSS IT Cloud Architecture team. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has over 20+ Data Centers across the state. The Enterprise Cloud Architect will be mainly responsible in migrating and re-platforming large enterprise application in various on-premise locations to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, and maturing EOTSS application automation deployment. The ECA will need to understand the infrastructure of each location and will be collaborating with all teams within EOTSS and its customers to design and implement cohesive architecture with a cloud first approach that meets the business needs of EOTSS and its customers. The ECA is expected to have strong general expertise in information technology architecture including but not limited to server, storage, database, virtualization, network, middleware, security, authentication/authorization, and disaster recovery. The ECA should also have a solid understanding of DNS Active Directory and Amazon Web Services (AWS) including the ability to architect and implement environments within AWS frameworks. The primary work location for this role will be at One Ashburton Place Boston, Massachusetts 02108. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 5PM. Responsibilities: • Provide technical architecture designs and implementations for information technology solutions hosted in the cloud and on premises. This includes new solutions and environments, enhancements to existing, as well as complete re-architecture of existing solutions/environments. • Collect and analyze business and technical requirements for the purpose of translating them into information technology solutions. Detail and document the logical and physical designs as per the EOTSS methodologies, policies, standards, and patterns. • Conduct design walk-throughs for review and sign-off. • Lead or participate in defining the EOTSS Technology Roadmap. • Lead or assist in definition and management of standards, guidelines, and processes for infrastructure technology and software development. • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct and demonstrate proof-of-concepts for new products and architectures. • Lead or participate in writing of RFx (request for proposal, quotation, etc.) and SOW (statement of work) for infrastructure solutions. • Liaise and negotiate with vendors on quotes for SaaS solutions, infrastructure hardware, software, and professional services. • Perform capacity planning analysis, define requirements, and engineer cost-effective best of breed technology solutions. • Stay engaged with multiple projects providing architectural design and implementation oversight. • Lead and assist in developing cloud strategies including governance, technology roadmap, architecture, and   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
