Job Description :

Full Stack Java role where they are looking for some exposure to DevOps. This would be a long term contract engagement here in Minneapolis. Interviews are being coordinated for every day this week. Are you available for new opportunities?

Ameriprise - Full Stack Java Developer
Minneapolis
12-24 months contract

Seeking a senior Java Developer with DevOps background. They will be transforming to “Next Gen” which means Dev teams that are “Full stack” in that theyre comprised of Front end, middle/microservices, and back end developers together. They are transforming to become more autonomous and can pump work out quicker vs. having a Front End team <> Liason <> Middle services team <> <> back end team.

General Skills

Software engineer with relevant experience in developing, packaging, configuring deploying, operating and maintaining microservices written in Java, in a cloud-native environment.
Good understanding of Micro services architecture and 12 factor apps
Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps processes and familiarity with wide range of devops tools
Expertise in Object Oriented Programming languages such as Java and familiarity with functional programming languages such as Scala.


Specific Skills

Extensive experience in designing, developing and deploying restful APIs in a Java-based ecosystem. Experience in GraphQL is a plus.
Experience running containerized applications in a cloud environment – preferably AWS and deploying applications in DC/OS and/or Kubernetes.
Expertise configuring DevOps pipelines for multiple environments in Jenkins or Bamboo
Familiarity with developing Back-ends for front-ends (BFF) using NodeJS
Good understanding and familiarity with developing front-end applications using frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, Redux, Relay.
Comfortable with docker for Mac/windows based developer environment
Databases experience (SQL, NoSQL)
Exposure to infrastructure as code platforms (terraform, cloud formation, etc) for creating environments
Exposure to ELK stack/similar for logging and Prometheus/similar for metrics
